Bleak and lifeless is what we mean by barren. Dry and parched. No activity. No growth.
This word “barren’ is so damn associated with negativity. It also talks about infertility in women. It is a word that induces anxiety, fear, curiosity and doubt. We live in an era of abundance information, medical progress and in a world where we even travel to the moon. Sadly, but women are yet victimized and tortured in many urban and rural areas for bearing a child no sooner they get married.
Bearing a child is so blissful. But it is a woman’s choice. A decision that she makes whether to give birth or not. Whether a woman is healthy or has any on going treatment, it is her liberty if she wants to bring another human in this world. To this I would like to add, there are so many other couples or single women who choose to adopt. Nurture another.
With an acceptance that having a child of our own has a completely different feeling. On another perspective how about adopting if ever there are conflicting thoughts? Why label women as barren? There are millions of children who are not cared for or left on the streets. They are deprived of parental love and support. These kids might have a potential unknown. Compassion can be directed towards them. In unknowing ways, there are many of us who believe in sharing and giving and contributing at various social levels to help the unprivileged. So, this was just an emerging thought in general penned here. Nothing specific.
Reconcile with your thoughts.
Accept who you are.
