Walking for 30 minutes a day or more on most days of the week is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Before the pandemic, I used to go for morning walks for at least an hour. It had set into my regular routine and it helped me shed off some unhealthy fat as well. I walked anywhere between 7 to 9 km and felt so good to see the sweat on my forehead lol. My aim was to convince my children to do some exercise every day. I kept thinking about how to tell them. Fortunately as one says “Lead by example”, it so happened that my kids asked me to take them along. I was extremely happy as half the work was done. On weekends they used to hop along.
There were days when only my older one would come. It is a pleasure walking with him. We resonate in so many ways and we have so much to discuss and talk about. Though we realised that one benefits from walking if kept silent but it was natural that we had topics to talk about. I always look forward to walking with him as he matches my pace and both of us love to walk fast. We also have similar taste of food hence our walks were followed by a treat at times. It is fun. Even now both of us prefer to go walking together. Off late I have a minor injury on my left foot due to which I cannot walk at the same speed. My little one is super fun. Her chatter just makes the whole walk thingy so interesting. She likes to take pictures and we too have so much to share.
We are walking actually for bone health but we enjoy sharing stuff coz that is the time we actually get to talk and chatter and vent out. As long as walking gives some meaningful purpose, keep walking. 🙂
