Living in the past, she exists in the present
falling apart by the doubts, split by stern decisions
Knowing what is lost, what’s there will not last
swimming in the vast ocean, the mind struggles to free past
The heart knows it all, the mind distorts its vision
she tries with an effort, to understand the directions
To have lost something, that tore her apart
patching the scarred wounds, leaves a scar in the heart
Memories to hold, it isn’t painful to be alone
forgotten and unwanted, is the feeling untold
Trying to forget, she sleeps with a broken soul
brushing away all agony, makes up a secret alone
She tried and tried, but can’t mend herself
tried to fix things, but got more hurt instead
Parts of her knew, she was dreaming all the way
her mind speaks something, the heart doesn’t agree at all
Trying to be cheerful, the heart goes back to silence
keeping her face above the waves, teaches her a lesson
Stumbling and falling, she will walk the rough patch
Unlock the darkness, light prevails in hope
Try try and try, keep trying till the end
embedded in thy self, resist the resilience.
