“A mask behind a silence, Pain behind a smile. Fear behind a laughter, Tears behind a cheer.”
Numbness strikes in and all is calm,
All seems fake and nothing is real.
Promises once tied with satin ribbons,
Loneliness starts to brush in.
The tears don’t seem to stop,
Fear surrounds in the four walls.
Clouded by the impulses within,
Numbness is all around.
When one is feeling numb,
Then how do they feel, at all?
Is there reality in the frankness?
Or is the emotion too strong?
(For a close friend.)
