I found two roads ahead of me,
That diverged in the woods.
I found it strange and confusing,
As I looked down and far as I could.
One was curvy and the other was bent,
I wondered what was a better claim.
With doubt and fear I thought I’d turn back,
Maybe keep it for another day.
As I turned my back to take the road I knew,
A sound whispered in my head.
“Risk it” “Do it” “Take a chance”,
For if you don’t try, you might regret.
I lead my path with head up high,
To a bent road that went underground.
Oh I took the road less travelled by,
Across a bushy greasy brook.
A shadow followed me in and out,
Voices unheard were loud and clear.
The sound of the waves from the old bent brook,
Settled migrating birds here and there.
I stopped by the rocks to see a cave ahead,
Dark and gloomy as it seemed.
Walked closer to only have myself astonished,
With a treasure so profound.
Diamonds and Gems sparkled like fire light,
Blinded my eyes in glee.
Somewhere I feared this diverged route,
That I walked along unknowingly.
I could have picked a pocketful of diamonds,
That would make a fortune for a lifetime.
But I left if behind for I had experienced a route,
That gave me happiness to enchant.
The journey it mattered coz I tried it all,
For a chance I would have missed.
I learnt to walk on a path not taken,
Just “do it”…. it’s worth it.
