As our expectations grow bigger and wider,
We forget there are things beyond our control.
Even the rich, poor, wise and strong,
Can do just nothing at all.
We can make castles in the air,
And leave footprints in the sand.
But can the castles behold itself?
Can we pick the prints from the sand?
As we play this game of life,
Do we all play it fair?
For no one wants to be a loser,
Is winning the source of being happier?
We stumble and walk that extra step,
To be on the top of the world.
But what we have achieved and lived for,
Isn’t that so temporary?
In victory we must be humble,
For in defeat we should withstand.
Life teaches us it’s own lessons,
As there are things beyond our control.
