It is so damn easy to utter these three words “I DON’T CARE”….”I HATE HER”…. “I DON’T WANT THEM”
Caring is one of the gestures that comes naturally to us. It is being supportive towards others as well. In search of this pursuit of being happy, caring is one gesture that could give immense satisfaction to many. An act of altruism, compassion can serve a lot to another.
On the contrary, I wonder if one needs to stop caring and why and what happens when one does? Either you stop caring about them or someone else stops caring about you. How does it feel? Does one feel unworthy of being loved? Or lose the potential that once kept you going? Would it be devastating emotionally to a child or an adult? Well, you can’t force someone to care about you. Can you?
Someone who cares for you will share, talk, listen, enquire and be with you when you need them. They would somehow reach out to you in the most unexpected situations. They might not meet you every day but will make sure to let you know they care. In the hustling and bustling of life’s chores, people get busy and seem to forget you or stay in touch with you. There might be some who never really cared for you, some who you know will never care for you, no matter what you do.
Let’s see some of the pros when you stop caring!
1. You are fearless.
2. You can relax.
3. You may worry less of being accepted and rejected.
4. You expect less.
5. You are just okay with yourself alone.
6. You have the freedom to do what you want.
Oh Oh….how ever good this may seem, doesnt mean you stop caring.
There are times when:
– You care about someone and they don’t.
– You were loved by someone but you didn’t feel the same.
– You cared for some but they didn’t feel the same and would never ever.
– You hurt someone unintentionally but they refuse to forgive you even when you apologised.
And so on….and on….
Whatever the case, one is left with “aches”.
It is baffling to think about life spiralling into an unsolvable mystery that could leave an imprint forever. One might be right in all ways and decide to stop caring. In this battle of ego, anger and frustration, we might do more harm taking away a lot from them. You might never know if and when they need you.
Reach out….a small word from you could get back their hope. To err is human. To forgive is even a greater gesture!
