I prefer to dim light my room early before going to bed. It is like putting a shade over it so there is less activity and noise. In life, when things are hopeless, they are dim too.
As the popular saying goes “While writing the story of your life, don’t allow anyone else to hold the pen”, at times we unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same. Be it fear, negative emotions or just your own thinking, do not allow it to dim your light. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, all the time. Have you ever pondered when life gives you people and situations that dim your light, what happens when you linger on these moments for hours, days, weeks, months and then years?
As per experience, I have noticed that at some stage of life, you get still. The light within just dims. And knowingly unknowingly, you cannot do much about it. It just happens naturally. Over time, you learn to either live with it or outgrow it. But what happen within that period? Well, if we are aware of ourselves, the best we can offer our own self is to stay quiet. Go in hibernation for some time to be able to introspect and regrow. In these dim moments, we do not necessarily need to be social or be active. They are days to reflect, think and heal. We need not be harsh on ourselves either. Patiently and silently, we learn. Our intuition will allow us to heal.
We have often heard that when one door closes, another opens. Opportunities are available in abundance; it is our mind that needs wisdom and the vision. And just when you relax, you will see a “shining light” at the end of a tunnel. Someone, who crosses your path to help you and open doors to embark on a new journey. We may not even realize why and how they came into your life. These are God’s ways of telling you to push yourself and give your best. Life is meant to enjoy.
When you are ready to take that first step again, make sure to smell the roses and empathise with nature. Stop at a stream, talk to the moon and embrace the silver lining on that cloud. Begin to smile with your eyes and sing your heart!
Dim lights does not mean ‘’dimwit’. It just means keep flowing.
Learn and keep growing.
