I came across a quote, “Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures” by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
While I dream and think about turning my dream into real goals, I need to understand that there is a fine line between success and failure. Being confident is good but over-confidence can also lead to unpredictable situations. Often unprepared for failure, we embark on a journey of our fulfilling our goal. Of course, these days we are fortunate to have a lot of reading material and guidance as to know where we stand and what we need to do when we are faced with obstacles. This helps us to prepare ourselves well in advance even before we start our journey.
Whether it is wealth gain, eminence and glam or any favorable outcome one desires, success is generally determined by your priorities, your current circumstances, size of your dream, energy, health, age, financial measures and determination. Through our upbringing, mindset and own experiences, we form our goals and decide its path. Success is not competing. It is your own accomplishment or something that you desire. There are innumerable reads about what is success, how to achieve it, etc, etc.
Dream big while still enjoying the little things.
When we dream, do we see it taking place? If we do not envision or visualize it, how do we expect it to come true? Rushing through your path to achieve your goal does no good either. You may need to pause and ponder, face the pebbles that cross your path. My life has been eventful, and I have seen many people who changed after they have achieved success or reached a peak in their life. No doubt their efforts have paid off. Efforts keep you going. I love success too and achieved plenty. But it somehow has not changed my innate self in a way that I pull someone else down or show off. I have been undeterred by the glam sham of my success. At a point I used to think I need to change but I could not. Something stopped me and I stayed grounded and yet do. Success is not determined by how much you achieve and beat your drum. There are silent achievers too. They are humble and down to earth even after they have achieved all the pomp and glam.
All of us want to accomplish and touch the feet of success but at times, we are wasting our energies on things that hold us back from achieving our best potential. Surrounding yourself with people who lift you and encourage you might make you a self-made person.
Stay grounded even while you soar high. Dream big but enjoy the little things. . Transformation is possible. Redefining your goals is POSSIBLE!
