The simplest, yet hardest for some.
With all the chaos and amidst all the noise that surround us, we do look forward to a deserving day of just being with our own selves. Just DOING NOTHING AT ALL. To break away from the overworking, overdoing and underliving.
I chose to usher into a world of “being” over “doing”. Disconnecting partially with social media, I created space for my inner well-being. A place where we all need to connect with occasionally. By not thinking about what is going to happen, time, success or failure, doing specific tasks, etc, you can create time for yourself. In a culture of over achievers and success makers, we want to make things happen faster and unintentionally make our days grow shorter. In this hustle and bustle, if we could control something, that would be time. Yes! Time to save those precious moments that turn into memories so soon.
We generally don’t allow ourselves to indulge in idleness. It seems like a sin. Stop! Smell the roses. Breathe. Dance. Nap. Take a luxurious shower. Watch the sunrise or the sunset, paint, cure a runny nose, unwind the guilt, exhale.
The advantages are plenty. You tend to become compassionate, aware, stronger, healthier, creative, harmonious, empathetic, fresh and much more. “Doing Nothing” at times is a great investment into your personal self and it is worth it. It is not about making huge changes. It is about taking baby steps in changing your lifestyle and mindset. And when you do that, you discover a fresher YOU and perhaps a Newer YOU. It may just help to relax and ease the rushing and beat-the-clock craziness.
You will be surprised to find out that “you’ve got plenty of nothing’, and that nothing’s plenty for you. “
