Let me begin with gratitude that we have been very fortunate to have received education and in this process of learning, we also learnt sharing and giving. In an era when most parents couldn’t afford a good education for their children, I got to study.
True education would be when we give it back to society, to the needy and to ourselves. It is not just going to school and getting a certificate after completion of tenth grade. True education begins where there is awareness, enlightenment and the purposeful intention of reaching out to those who need it too.
Education for me has been an awareness, an insight into my own self. I used my education to reach out toy own children first. Help them with their studies and decide to educate them. I have helped quite a few others when needed. As we say charity begins at home, similarly our education can be used to train our children and ourselves to adapt, adjust and be human. Intelligence does not relate only to IQ scores but to the way, one responds to oneself, to others and society in general. True education is an inward journey where learning is on a continuum.
